The Book of Five rings written in 1645 by Miyamoto Musashi. Although it is a treatise on swordsmanship and combat strategy, its deeper message is about the philosophy of victory, discipline, and master principles that can be applied to life, business, leadership, and competition.

Book of Earth (Fundamentals): Establish a solid foundation through training. Master the basics so they become second nature.

Book of Water (Adaptability): Be flexible in mind and technique, adapting to any situation like water.

(Wing Chun took this concept and expressed it in the Wing Chun Chain-Punch; the Chain-punch is not a move but a concept of executing flurry of attacks…in MMA this is called “smothering”)

Book of Fire (Tactics/Conflict): Understand conflict, act decisively, and keep a calm mind under pressure.
